ที่มุมนั้นมีโต๊ะตัวหนึ่งและตะเกียง
ถูก : In the corner there are a table and a lamp.
ที่มุมนั้นมีโต๊ะตัวหนึ่งและตะเกียง
ผิด : There is too many children in the school.
ถูก : There are too many children in the school.
มีเด็กนักรัยนมากมายที่โรงเรียน
ถูก : There are too many children in the school.
มีเด็กนักรัยนมากมายที่โรงเรียน
ผิด : There have been an accident.
ถูก : There has been an accident.
ได้เกิดอุบัติเหตุขึ้น
ถูก : There has been an accident.

ถ้าประโยคขึ้นต้นด้วย
here หรือ there แล้วมีนามเอกพจน์ตามกริยา กริยานั้นเป็นเอกพจน์ด้วย
ถ้ามีนามพหูพจน์ตามกริยา กริยานั้นต้องเป็นพหูพจน์ด้วย
ผิด : Here comes the twins.
ถูก : Here come the twins.
